Gravure Technology Forum in Bobst Italia

In the first half of May 2017 in the Educational and Expert Center of Bobst Italia, there were open days devoted to innovative gravure technologies. During two days, the event was attended by more than 140 people, including the managers and specialists of VMG, who participated in the Technology Forum and trained for further work with gravure and lamination equipment. Remind that since the beginning of spring, VMG has become the official representative of the Web-Fed division, and will supply the entire line of printed web equipment produced by Bobst Group.

The representatives of the factory made presentations on the latest developments of Bobst Italia in the field of gravure printing and lamination, as well as innovative solutions in the field of service. After that, visitors were invited to the production site of Bobst, where demonstrations of high-performance equipment were organized:
• On the servo-driven 9-color printing line of the latest generation RS 6003C HS, printing on a BOPP material of 17 microns at a speed of 500 m / min was demonstrated using an innovative drying system to reduce the residual solvent to <10 mg / m2, which is especially important in manufacturing food packaging. Using the most modern automatic register system and its subsequent control during printing minimizes production waste and significantly speeds up the process of transition from work to work.
• On the servo-drive 8-color printing line RS 6002C, samples were printed on an LDPE of 18 microns at a speed of 300 m / min. The web tension control system makes it possible to obtain an ideal register at high speeds even when printing on stretch thin materials, for example, polyethylene. This equipment is intended for the production of flexible packaging, including thin film materials.
• On the high-performance duplex laminator CL 850 V was made the coating at a speed of 400 m / min.
Bobst printing equipment is an excellent reliability, high efficiency, minimization of time and waste. Earlier in March, VMG specialists visited the Bobst Italia factory and passed a training program on a line of new compact laminators presented by two models:
• CL 750 D – Combined process, solvent and solvent-free lamination;
• SL 750 D – solvent-free lamination.
The advantages of the new line of laminators are the convenience and speed of material change, easy of maintenance, the use of materials with a minimum width of 400 mm without adapters, a convenient system with a replacement cart. Bobst offered a line of compact laminators, which will undoubtedly be of interest to manufacturers of flexible packaging, focused on medium-sized runs and frequent job changes.
