Open House BOBST Label & Packaging Innovation 2019

BOBST company, Mouvent and partners of REVO project presented new solutions for label production and packaging at the BOBST Firenze Open House in Florence. From the 1st of April to the 4th of April, brand owners, customers, suppliers and journalists were the first to get acquainted with a number of innovative technologies and equipment.
The first part of the program consisted of presentations of the event participants: Bobst, Dupont, Flintgroup, Apex, Avt, Esko, X-rite Pantone, Mouvent, Upm, Lohman, Gew. Each company told about the development trends, new developments, special attention was paid to the safety of food packaging.
The main event of the Open House became the presentation of a new Flower IOD printing unit and DigiColor. The previous version of FLOWER was developed by Gidue factory specialists (now BOBST Firenze) and put on the market in 1999. Since then, it has become the most popular and successful development in the world market for flexography. A feature of the novelty is the supply of the ink from 30 grams on demand and the absence of the ink tray. The system has a closed cycle with a spectrophotometer and feed back. Flower IOD during the printing process allows you to change the intension of the ink in every DigiColor print unit. DigiColor color management system for printing with an extended ECG color range allows you to control the color density without changing the thickness of the ink layer. The technology has been demonstrated on BOBST M5 DigiFlexo printing press.
The visitors were acquainted with some models of the BOBST Firenze equipment line: a new M1X for printing labels on self-adhesive materials, M5, M6 with REVO technology and automatic order change. Besides, a great printing line for the production of cardboard packaging M6 with a sheet delivery was demonstrated.
Special attention was given to the Mouvent digital label printing machine, which will be presented in Brussels at LabelExpo 2019 exhibition. The visitors were impressed with the high production of 100 m / min, print quality with a resolution of 1200 dpi and the speed of circulation change.
